When I first imagined what this consultancy could become, I kept returning to the same image: a kittiwake soaring above the Atlantic. Not just because of its East Coast roots, but because of everything the bird symbolizes—resilience, collaboration, adaptability, and direction. It wasn’t just a name. It was a reflection of how I’ve approached every chapter of my career.
I’ve spent nearly two decades in the nonprofit and philanthropic sector, guiding organizations through periods of rapid growth, uncertainty, reinvention, and renewal. I’ve been in rooms where big ideas were just beginning to form—and at kitchen tables with executive directors who needed clarity, calm, and a plan. I’ve seen firsthand that the best work doesn’t happen in isolation. It happens when we flock together. Just like the kittiwake.
This bird doesn’t nest alone. It thrives in colonies, builds strong foundations in precarious places, and adapts to even the roughest conditions at sea. That’s what I want Kittiwake to offer: a steady presence, a strategic mind, and a collaborative spirit, especially when the tides are changing.
I’ve had the privilege of walking alongside clients during major transitions—a generational shift in leadership, the launch of an ambitious new fundraising strategy, or a desire to finally move from reactive to intentional. One of my clients once said, “You helped us see the map more clearly, but you also made us believe we could actually get there.” That’s what Kittiwake is about. Not just the plan, but the belief. The confidence. The sense of direction.
And yes, sometimes the wind shifts. Sometimes the path forward isn’t linear. But that’s the beauty of this work. We adapt. We keep flying.
Kittiwake isn’t just a consultancy. It’s a reflection of the kind of partnership I wish every mission-driven leader had—strategic, creative, grounded, and fully in it with you. We rise together. We pivot when we must. And we never lose sight of the horizon.
Let’s soar.
